Johanna Spanjerberg was born in Amsterdam (Netherlands), where she completed studies in singing and drama.
After several years of teaching music, drama and singing, she joined "The Boulevard of Broken Dreams Orchestra", with whom she toured for several years in Europe and Canada.
In 1989 she joined the "Glenn Miller Orchestra" as featured vocalist, performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls and theaters all over Europe.
